National Day of Prayer

day-of-prayerNational Day of Prayer with Greg Laurie from Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California.

The National Day of Prayer was created by Congress and signed into law by President Harry Truman in 1952. Its purpose is

“to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture.”

The United States has a long tradition of presidents calling for days of prayer for the nation, and Congress formalized this practice to happen annually on the first Thursday in May. Mrs. Shirley Dobson is the chairman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force.

This year, the National Day of Prayer Task Force selected Greg Laurie as its 2013 Honorary Chairman. Laurie is senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California. Pastor Laurie has also lead many evangelistic rallies, called Harvest Crusades, where thousands of people hear him preach the Gospel of Christ at large stadiums.

Prayer to be prayed for the National Day of Prayer by Pastor Greg Laurie,
honorary chairman for the NDOP in Washington, DC, May 2nd, 2013:

Father, we come to You to pray for our nation, the United States of America.

How You have blessed us through the years, Lord! We rightly sing, “America, America, God shed His grace on thee.” Yet we see trouble in our culture today. We see the breakdown of the family, crippling addictions, and random acts of horrific violence.

Lord, we need Your help in America. In recent days, we have done our best to remove Your Word and Your counsel from our courtrooms, classrooms, and culture. It seems, as President Lincoln once said, that we have “forgotten God.” But Lord, You have not forgotten us! You can bless and help and revive our country again.

Scripture tells us that “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). Lord, in Your mercy, we ask that You would exalt our country again. We have had a number of great awakenings in America. We have experienced times of refreshing, and revivals that changed not only the spiritual but also the moral landscape. As the psalmist said, “Will You not revive us again, so that Your people may rejoice in You?” (Psalm 85:6).

That is our prayer for America today, Lord. Send a mighty spiritual awakening that will turn the hearts of men and women, boys and girls, back to you. You have told us if we will humble ourselves and pray, and seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways, that You will forgive our sins and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Forgive us today, Lord, and heal this troubled land that we love so much.

We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Welcome to Free Prayer

up-arrow-logoPraying to God helps the lives of all those who believe.

It is our mission to bring together the faithful to share in prayer for those in need. If you would like to submit a prayer request, it will be shared with our community of faithful Christians, so that they may pray for you.

If you or a family member is need of prayer, the Lord shall hear your request through the prayers of the entire Christian Community. You are not walking a lonely course, but rather holding hands with those who care. Christ loves everyone and is filled with happiness when they are praying together online or in church.

We believe that the miracle of relationship prayers, and financial blessings can be shared by everyone. Feel free to submit a prayer request for healing if you or a loved one needs physical rehabilitation. Allow the Lord to enter your heart and you will be rewarded here, and in Heaven. If you need to find a stronger connection to God, pray for faith or make a prayer request for well being.

Healing is a long process that begins with prayer and faith. The Bible tells us what we must do, and we must have the strength to come together in Holy worship. Submit a prayer and read the prayers of those who are in need of help and guidance. Jesus loves us all. It is our faith in christ Jesus that binds us together in prayer  to help one another. God Blesses.
